Gateway for Cancer Research is announced a scientific partnership with Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation, establishing the Gateway Discovery Grant Program.
The Gateway Discovery Grant Program identifies compelling areas of inquiry in early phase cancer research and funds the talented clinician-scientists best positioned to pursue them. A $1.5 million grant will be awarded every two years and is a significant new source of funding for innovative cancer researchers poised to advance breakthrough clinical trials.
The inaugural Gateway Discovery Grant will focus on immunotherapy. Gateway has invested more than $8 million in 13 active immunotherapy trials, including a significant number of studies designed to treat malignancies that have proven to be especially challenging targets for immunotherapy research.
Applications open July 1 and will be accepted until September 2019. The first grant recipient will be announced on February 1, 2020.
