February 4 is World Cancer Day, a day to unite the globe in the fight against cancer.
World Cancer Day’s motto is #WeCanICan and explores how everyone – as a collective or as individuals – can do their part to reduce the global burden of cancer.
This year alone, nearly 8 million people worldwide will die of cancer, and left unchecked, the number of deaths will increase to 13.2 million per year by 2030. There is an urgent need for action to raise awareness of the disease and to develop practical strategies to reduce the burden of cancer.
On Sunday, February 4, take a minute to talk with your friends and loved ones about cancer or get involved in a local World Cancer Day activity. Also, make World Cancer Day a day that you, as an individual, make a change to reduce your own risk of cancer. You might commit to daily walks or a healthier diet or make an appointment for an appropriate cancer screening. You can also make a donation to your favorite cancer charity!
At Gateway, collaboration is key to achieving our mission to fund meaningful and breakthrough clinical trials worldwide that help people living with cancer to feel better, live longer and conquer cancer TODAY! 99 cents of every dollar Gateway receives directly funds human cancer clinical trials to help improve patient outcomes and preserve quality of life.
On World Cancer Day, we are grateful for your support. Together, we continue to make great strides in the fight against some of today's most deadly cancers.
