The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) will host its 2017 ASCO Annual Meeting in Chicago’s McCormick Place from June 2-6. The meeting will attract as many as 30,000 oncology professionals from around the world. The theme of the 2017 Annual Meeting is “Making a Difference in Cancer Care With You.”
For the fourth year in a row, Gateway for Cancer Research will be among 500+ exhibitors at the ASCO Annual Meeting. Gateway’s exhibitor booth will be located in the Patient Advocacy Pavilion. This year, Gateway’s booth number is 2027. Gateway’s exhibitor booth is designed to engage prospective and existing Gateway grant recipients and research collaborators. Takeaways from the booth will include Gateway’s global impact report – an infographic snapshot of Gateway’s impact in supporting clinical trials over the past 25 years.
Studies from a number of Gateway’s current grantees will be featured in poster sessions at the meeting on June 5th. Grantees acknowledging Gateway’s funding, include:
Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee, author of The Gene: An Intimate History and winner of the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for general nonfiction for The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer, will be the guest speaker at the Opening Session on Saturday. Dr. Mukherjee is an assistant professor of medicine at Columbia University and a currently funded Gateway grantee.
If you’re planning to attend the ASCO Annual Meeting and walk through the Oncology Professionals Hall, please stop by and say, “Hello” at Gateway’s exhibitor booth. You’ll be warmly welcomed!
