Join Gateway for Cancer Research and the family and friends of Michael Brannan as we honor the memory of the late pro golfer at the 5th Annual Michael Brannan Memorial Pro-Am on Monday, September 11, at the Los Altos Golf and Country Club in Los Altos, California. This event raises funds to support clinical trials specifically targeting kidney cancer. Before his death in 2013, Brannan had a celebrated golf career. He once held the record for being the youngest U.S. Junior Amateur champion, a record that
stood for 20 years and was eventually broken by Tiger Woods. Throughout his esteemed career, Brannan was a PGA pro, won the Utah Open and
competed in the U.S. Open three times.
In tribute to Michael’s long and brave battle against cancer, we celebrate
the golfer’s legacy every year, raising over $93,000 to date. Through
generous donations from the event, Gateway is funding a groundbreaking kidney/renal cancer clinical trial led by Dr. Toni Chouieri at Dana Farber
Cancer Institute.
According to the American Cancer society, roughly 63,990 new cases of kidney cancer will be reported this year and 14,400 people will die from this disease.
This is unacceptable.
The Michael Brannan Memorial Pro-Am is yet another opportunity for our gracious donors to help support Gateway’s mission to create a world where a cancer diagnosis is no longer feared. And thanks to generous underwriting, 99 cents of every dollar Gateway receives directly funds Phase I and Phase II
human clinical trials, paving the way for better treatment options and cures for
cancer patients TODAY!
